09:14 am - Eek! Realizing that two of your friends are no longer with you like you thought they were, and becoming aware that they have been replaced by full -sized Raggedy Ann-like versions of themselves that are now fawning over you in a mocking fashion (with cloth skin distorting their now painted-on features as they move, and dreadlock-like yarn hair dangling) is creepy as hell.
If I still ran Chill I'd save this imagery for that, but since I don't anymore I figured I'd just post it for those of you who get a kick out of that kind of thing.

10:00 pm - "Strike that. Reverse it." Stuff I want to do (more of), in no particular order: Learn kung fu. Play Netrunner. Play V:TES with the new group I found. Play more board games. See friends more. Play more 40K. Play WHFB and Lord of the Rings (miniatures). Get to the FGS game night from time to time. Improv performance again? Improv For Life in some new configuration (the old one is being retired at the end of June). Wormhole. Build terrain for Warhammer. Paint and assemble models for miniatures games. Get my shi... stuff together, which is to say get my apartment organized and get more on top of stuff I need to be doing. Get my brain working again (it's broked right now, almost to pre-sacral cranial levels). Go back to school on a night school kind of a basis. Exercise.

03:34 pm - I am a business traveler I think it's reasonable to say that "I travel" now because I know for a fact that I've been in this airport before, but can't remember why or when, other than that it was sometime during the past year or so.

09:06 am - Fame! (sort of...) I was told that I'm in today's Globe (in the Sidekick) and that I look "fabulous".
I'm curious to see it, and will probably pick up a copy on the way home...
Edit: Oops. I was just told that the Sidekick is only out on Thursdays. So it must have been Thursday that I was in it?
Now I'm confused.
I should ask the guy who told me they saw me...

08:31 am - Math is hard... <Old guy rant>
I've learned two things recently: 1) They either no longer teach basic arithmetic, or kids are seriously slipping through the cracks without learning what's being taught. 2) If you don't have exact change, don't use coins to pay for something.
I got some takeout at one restaurant a few days ago, and it came to $8.35. I gave the woman a twenty, and then fished for change while she talked to a guy behind the counter. I gave her the 35 cents, and she took it, and gave me $11.00 back. I explained that it was a dollar short. She said, "No." I tried to explain, but she wasn't having it. Anything I said was met with "No." And, of course, she hadn't actually rung up the order or laid my money aside while making change. So she starts talking to the guy next to her in Spanish, and he's done nothing but stare at me the whole time like I'm the biggest asshole on the planet. I took another stab at it, and it became clear that she wasn't budging.
Fine. Keep the dollar.
This morning I bought breakfast for $4.40. I have her a twenty, and told her I had the $0.40. She opened the register and I gave her the forty cents. She took out $15 and then was looking at the bills and looking at the forty cents and looking confused and nervous. I told her the change was $16. She looked doubtful, and her hands started shaking just a little bit. I walked her through the events, saying I gave her $20.40, blah blah blah. At one point I looked for scrap paper and a pen, but didn't see anything along those lines so gave up on writing it out for her. When I walked out, she thanked me, but looked like she wasn't sure if I'd helped her or pulled a fast one.
From now on, no more coins unless I have exact change.
...and I'm going to be annoyed that not leaving people behind doesn't include making sure they know basic arithmetic.</old guy rant>

11:20 pm - Improv For Life! So this is it, I'm having my "save the school" montage/marathon thingy "at the end of the movie". If IFL doesn't start paying for itself (or better yet, turning a profit), I'm going to close it down for a while.
I've recently posted a new class schedule at Improv For Life, and I'm putting up flyers anywhere I can think of. If you know someone you think might be interested, please pass this along!
Thanks for looking!

10:52 am - Art help? I'm looking to get some help coming up with a really simple graphic for an advertisement. All it is is a red cancel or slash through some text that looks more "fun" than strikeout.
If you can help, or know someone who can, please drop me a line.
Thanks!

09:41 pm - Yuck. To hers:
Thank you for welcoming me as one of your own, and thank you for your kindness. I'll miss all of you.
To mine:
Break-ups suck for everyone involved. This one is no different. Conversation and company greatly appreciated.
To ours:
I don't feel that there's any side to take here, but if you must think of things in those terms, please take both of them (or just hers, I guess).

That's right...

12:02 pm - Holy lack of planning, Batman! I'm moving on Saturday to Somerville. I could use help around noon-ish getting stuff into the truck in Braintree. I could also use help whenever I get to Somerville with my stuff.
Any help would be appreciated, and I'll totally feed you.

11:17 pm - Oh goodness!
What's cuter than a tiny little racoon cub wandering around in the dark on the side of a highway?
Wrong!
A racoon cub wandering around in the dark on the side of a highway with a little kitten companion. The two of them were obviously off on some great adventure that was going to end up with one or the other reunited with their family or mommy, and it was ADORABLE.

12:36 pm - Some serious yuckery There's some family health stuff that is going really well right now but is in a state of flux and we don't really know how things will end up. It could be just fine, or it could the baddest of the bad.
So please forgive me if I seem distracted or selfish right now.
In all seriousness, other than that, things are pretty good.

08:33 am - Under Construction I'd kind of ground to a halt on the IFL front because my site was getting me down, and so I haven't been doing anywhere near as much work on that front, on any dimension, as I should have because I didn't want to promote a site that wasn't clearly getting across what I'm doing. Why have someone look at something that's just going to confuse them? And I certainly didn't want people to look at it, decide it wasn't for them, and then never look at it again.
Anyway, last night I had a great discussion with an incredibly helpful person, and with her help I'm taking the site in a direction I'm really happy with. Or at least, I think I'm happy with it. I'm too close to it right now to see it as another person would, of course. Anyway, it seems like it's a promising new direction.
It's not done yet, so you can't see it if you go to the URL, but if you're really jonesing for a look I can send you an email with some screenshots I've taken.
